Every Friday is "Fun Friday!"
It isn't anything big.
It isn't expensive and crazy.
We just wake up and say "ITS FUN FRIDAY!"
and the kids jump up and down and clap!
On our way home we swing through and snag ourselves a little ice cream or otherwise not typical treat!
We drive home, eating our treats, chatting over the day and kicking off the weekend that is now upon us.
We love Fun Friday!
Today however there was a torrential down pour at the typical "pick up" time
so Fun Friday treats consisted of some cookies I had grabbed at the store earlier...
but in true Fun Friday Fashion they could eat as many as they wanted!
*little did they know I had already swung through and purchased my own frozen strawberry lemonade that I so sucked down before picking them up! *Gasp at the thought of sharing it!*

Parenting moment #1347
Driving home we quickly left the rain storm behind us.
There is something wonderful about a rain storm but even something more beautiful about rainbows.
Tonight on our way home we witnessed one of the most spectacular rainbows ever.
It was so clear.
Cohen proceeds to tell me: Mom I just folded my hands and said a prayer to Jesus and Grandma Ella.
{When Grandma Ella died Cohen and I decided that whenever we saw a rainbow
that Grandma Ella was sitting right there on top, swinging her legs and waving at us}
So I was already like
"ahhh that's so sweet"
When he continues with "mom I have a Jesus song like this: *sung to an unrecognizable tune*
Jesus hold my hand and I will hold Grandma Ella's
and we can swing from the rainbow together
So right there in the middle of my "ahh" parenting moment
Kadence declares she has a song:
"mom my have song too"
Which goes like this:
Happy Birt-day Poo-py *insert crazy giggling here*
In a desperate attempt to salvage the "ahh" moment
I (so stupidly) ask
Kadence why don't you sing a Jesus song
to which she replies
"my sing a Jesus song mom?!"
Yes kadence, sing a Jesus song...
Happy Birt-day poo-py Jesus
*again inserting the crazy giggling here*
Yup Happy Fun Friday.
It's not perfect,
but it's mine.
Ahhh
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own.
No apologies or excuses.
No one to lean on, rely on, or blame.
The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey -
and you alone are responsible for the quality of it.
This is the day your life really begins. ~Bob Moawad
*all photos were not taken by me(georgous rainbows!)
but the flooding picture really was from Columbus today*
